I might smoking the drapes here but...Vic Fangio?

Probably a total reach but he coached with Harbaugh at Stanford so he might be familiar with McIntyre. Just lost out on the Niners HC job to Tomsula. Could be an interesting name to at least reach out to. Most likely a pipe dream.

56 years old and has never coached in college. [Edit: Aside from one year at Stanford in 2010, Harbaugh's last] That would be a hard sell and a big drop off from 30 years around professional football players.

Guessing Gibbs, Walker and Hobby. All would be good for different reasons. The second assistant is key too, we desperately need a star recruiter with this coaching change. It would be great if Seto was one of the three; but, I just don't see it happening. Sorry Buffnik. I hope I'm wrong

Hobby already signed an extension.
Does that mean he is out completely? Wouldn't it depend on what kind of a buyout agreement he has? Hobby's new contract might not be a deal breaker. I'm hoping that is the same for a couple of the coaches that signed with unlv. Would love to see Suemalo and Christian added to the staff. They look to be better recruiters than the two that coach their position at CU.

Take heart. CU will have its DC before Colorado gets its first In N Out Burger.

I doubt the NFL guy or guys is Seto, word is Quinn is gonna go to Atlanta. He might get promoted. I have no damn clue who we are getting, just hope it's not disappointing.

Regardless of where he goes, Quinn should be gone. The reason I say should is that there are only 3 teams who officially still have vacancies (Den, ATL and Chi). Chicago is assumed to be hiring Fox, ATL is interviewing Teryl Austin today, for the 2nd time, and Den's frontrunner is said to be Kubiak. What if Seattle's Super Bowl run stretches out the time line too far and teams make their hires prior to his season being over? Regardless, assuming he does leave, there's nothing out there that says Seto is the next DC in Seattle. Yes, it seems convenient for Pete Carroll to be able to promote the guy, but you never know. If what was reported is true, that there are 3 candidates and 2 are in the NFL, Seto has as good a shot as anyone to be the guy, as far as we know.

I get ya, man we are completely in the dark seems like. They wanted to keep it quiet, I'd say they succeeded in that endeavor lol.

Even if Seto is a stretch for CU, I'd love to see what he would do with our talented group of defensive backs and pass defense. Bring the LOB to Boulder!

I'm wondering who the other NFL guy is? Hell, I don't know if Seto is being looked at. I'd be very happy if he was.

I agree with both points but still an interesting name. I hear you on the not a lot of college experience but he has had success everywhere he has gone. I'm also not quite sure why Allbuffs is obsessed with finding a "young" guy. As has been mentioned a DC doesn't always have to recruit. The assistants are the ones who usually recruit. Doesn't mean the DC has no contact but if he is successful then they should counteract the "old" aspect in my mind. Who wouldn't want to play for an experienced successful NFL coach? The league is usually the goal and I think that would give a leg up.

Re-reading what I wrote it sounds like I'm stumping for him but I'm not. Just thought it was an interesting option and he is most likely available. Would most likely be a step down(as you mentioned) for him and I'm guessing he'll stay in NFL.

Earlier we heard they(MacIntyre) wanted someone familiar with PAC12 offenses. Does not seem that NFL guys or ACC guys are going fit that bill. It also appears we are going to bring in someone who has not been a DC before.
