Expectations for the rest of the season

We might get wins over ASU and Cal, but I certainly don't expect to.
I was at the Cal game last night. They are going to kill us.

After the WSU game I have to wonder if this team is throwing in the towel and just going through the motions. They have not looked good the last several games (even the victory) and appear to be getting worse as the season wears on. If our offense continues with its woes and the defense continues to not be able to stop the run I do not see winning another game. Cal is improved and has their heart into getting to a bowl game - lose to Cal and CU's odds of 6 wins gets mighty small. Many people had ASU as a win but that team has really turned around. Might be the toughest game left. I expect USC and Utah to just pound away.
I don't think we've been getting worse. The team has been dog **** all year. Some people are just starting to wake up to it.

Maybe get Coach GB to speak to the team or the staff...isn't he part of the program in a consultant capacity of some sort? Or are the ego's to big to listen?

I think Cal and ASU are going to be hard. Certain loses in both. I would focus everything right now on beating USC. USC is vulnerable and primed to overlook a road game against Colorado in the cold. Shock USC and ride the momentum to beat Utah. That gets us to a bowl.

Can we win a couple of the games that remain? yea however very unlikely unless a light bulb comes on somehow. MM is probably going to receive his 2nd PAC reprimand this week and everyone who stayed up late saw his cork pop. MM knew how important this season was to his coaching future, fall too far from last year's success and he'll be branded as a "fixer" not much more. I also expect some of the frosh to start getting more game reps, with the games that remain they're going to be looking to next season and whether or not MM is the coach they believe will help further their careers if they have those aspirations. I expect a couple of competitive losses and a couple of not so close losses.

I like your all-in approach. Let’s see. Sam Darnold, with all day to throw... Hmm...

Again, I don't want to overreact. I think we all had WSU marked down as an "L" in the preseason, and probably even moreso after seeing how WSU started the season.

However- I have been concerned all season with the offense and last night put me in full-blown panic mode. I don't mind them switching to Noyer since Montez was having trouble, but the fact that they couldn't make any halftime adjustments and surprise the Cougs with Noyer is DEEPLY concerning. This reminds me of the Bienemy offenses where it was a strategy of "throw **** against the wall and see what sticks."

CU clearly has no idea how to design an effective offense and compensate for weaknesses.

Also, I'm sick of hearing about "the best WR corps in the nation" that continually doesn't show up.

I didn't have WSU down as an L, for some reason both Falk & Browning have played their worst games against us. I did have ASU as a L to offset. Wigley drops and int, Fisher coulda/shoulda int., Moeller's doh int (6 points), the shovel pass ruled as an incomplete pass. 4 plays that were early in the game that had they been made or called correctly may very well have effected the outcome.

Seriously...the easiest team we have left on our schedule is USC.

USC loss @ND, USC loss@ASU, USC loss vs UA, USC @CU (?)

CU fans will storm the field and give the team some sense of accomplishment this year.

I think the Utah game is more winnable than @ASU.

I'm looking forward to the Utah game with us coming in at 5-6, playing on the road, against our "rival", with a shot at getting bowl eligible. Not even close to as awesome as last season, but frankly it would easily be one of the top 2 or 3 seasons in the post Barnett era if they find 2 more wins. I'm also looking forward to this being what we can define as a down year going forward.

Sam Darnold is a qb that has some scrambling ability. We all know that DJ Eliot can not figure out how to even slow down a scrambling qb, regardless of how much tape he has watched or how much time he has to prepare a game plan. I'm betting Darnold runs for over 100 yards against us and has one of his best games of the season, overall

I posted something along these lines in chat during the game.
+ Luke Falk has one positive rushing game in 2017 besides CU: 4 yards against Boise State
+ Before Saturday, his career rushing game was 2015 Rutgers with 22 yards

He had 41yards rushing against CU.

I not only don't see this team winning another game, but I don't see how this team gets any closer than 21 points against any of its remaining opponents. This isn't a regression to 2015...this is a regression to MM's first year...or perhaps the last season of Embree....hell, maybe we need some Hawk love. I didn't think it was even remotely possible that this team could fall back this far....ever... let alone this quickly. It is ugly out there. The lack of talent along the lines is astounding.

I would say it is time to see a bunch of younger guys play, but at this point in the season I would hate to blow anyone's redshirt and I also wouldn't want to destroy anyone's confidence.

This isn't anywhere close to 2012 type ineptitude. It's more like 2015 type ineptitude, but our expectations have been elevated to the point where we don't accept it.

As for the rest of the year, I think it really comes down to how our opponents are playing when they face us. We suck, but have the ability to pull a couple upsets if our opponents take us too lightly.

I ate a microdot a few times. Had some window pane. Ate lots of mushrooms. Smoked tons of pot and hash.

This season makes me feel like none of it ever happened or maybe all of it happened.

Go buffs win out.

Country is in same way except I don't expect the US to win out.

Can anybody who goes to the games tell me if the WR's are getting open at all? I'm trying to figure out if Montez just has no vision or if the back out boys just are not getting any separation. I sure seems like Sefo got the ball out a lot quicker last year. I'm not sure why.

There's usually an open receiver somewhere in the pattern.
