In spirit of being a Husker fan on a CU Buffs message board, I thought I'd post a thread, rather than respond to one. First off, I do recognize you guys as a rival, and do respect your tradition of great players and coaches. I'll share my favorite moments in the rivalry.
1-NU vs CU 2005. As a 19 point under dog on the road, we beat you guys 30-3. Possibly one of the sweetest blow out wins I've ever seen in being a Husker fan. That was during the Billy C era in Lincoln, and truth be told, we in Huskerland don't speak of him often.
2-NU sneaking by the Buffs in 2003 31-22. I thought that was enough for Frank Solich to keep his job. In retrospect, it should have been.
3-The Kick! I was at the game, seated in the south endzone next to a couple of CU fans. The CU fans were very cool people and enjoyed sitting next to them. Anyways, I never imagined that kick was going to go through. Just an insane atmosphere.
Again, not a flame. I think the NU-CU rivalry is just a natural rivalry. I expect many of you guys to say 62-36 as your favorite moment, or Eric Bienemy running wild in the fourth quarter in 1990. As you should
