September 3 - Colorado @ Hawaii

Man I would have to loved to see some of you the first few years when Coach Mac was hired.

If you guys are jumping under the bus now after one game, I wouldn't want to see the first three years when Mac was hired. And it's different than Hawk because Mac took over a destoryed program, same with Embree. Hawk took over a team that had won three North titles and a Big 12 title in 2001.

Losing to Hawaii sets the stage for this season. I was never on board for the Embree hire - I am not hoping for failure to solidify my prognosticating skills, but this is bleak. Hawaii is not BSU, this is a team that is beatable and will get beat at home by teams that are worse than we expected CU to be. There is a reason that Embree was on NO ONE elses hire list. CU was a premier program, and it's a mountain that must be climbed - but there must be some sort of partnership between the AD and coach, and Hawaii isn't the kind of team you schedule when you need to build momentum. Virginia Tech played a 1-AA team today and rolled them - VA isn't a state that produces half as many good HS players as Colorado does, and they are a power. It's about coaching and it's apparent that we don't have it.

petition to band haters and uneducated people from allbuffs? who down???

Uh, Virginia is a top 10 state for high school talent, easily. Want me to start reeling off some names? CO doesn't even come close to matching VA talent.

uh. Virginia produces probably 3x as many quality players as Colorado does. Plus their region is loaded with talent, we're surrounded by a bunch of not so talented places. Solid rant up to that point, though.

And for the record, Beamer had some HORRIBLE teams his first 5 years. Hokies (what few actually existed back then) wanted him gone and were pissed that they showed faith in him to build the program

we really had no way out of this game for those askin why we played them first. it was a home n home

Can't really judge Embree this year, all i am looking for is improvement. And i have already seen it with the special teams, defensive physical mentality. But i am also realistic that CU got to recruit well this year. Tyler Hansen was a Dan Hawkin recruit, the lack of talent on the team is mind boggling.

Yup. He went 2-9 and 3-8 his first two years then went 6-4 his third and finally broke though in 1995. People had some unrealistic expectations coming into this season, including myself.

VT was also a completely awful program before Beamer came around. We are 50x the program at this point than VT was back then. Beamer has done an amazing job building them up.

Look, nobody is saying Embree should be fired (I don't think, maybe BCS is, but he has a habit of being dramatic) so stop acting like people are giving up. We're still supporting, we're just disappointed. I thought we had some talent this year. Enough to beat Hawaii at least. Turns out Embree hasn't fixed our bad habits, he gets time to do so, but I think we all were hoping he'd have done so this year.

I'm more disappointed in our OL play. Fair or not, last time Marshall was here we ran people over. I'm guessing we just don't have much talent on the OL. We have some guys who were somewhat highly rated as recruits, but it aint working out. We might have some solid WRs in the future, but right now it's Prich and a bunch of people who are athletically challenged. McCullough looked good, but he's a true freshman, obviously we can't hope for more than some decent contributions from him right now. TE seemed to be pretty much MIA, so that's worrying too. Did EB just not target them? Were they not open? We need to get Deehan and Thornton involved.

as homo as it is my doodes... as much as we wanted it, and thought it was gonna go, we gonna have to jus accept losses like this. and wins too.
this is a process. patience. preaching to the choir tho
