there is a thread at "the other site" saying Big Erick is ineligible...again.

Anybody know it that is true?

If it is, it is Clint Werth part two. An OL who was supposed to be an impact player, but a no go. In Erick's case, an inability to get eligible. Is it grades? How hard can a Sociology class be anyway?:wow:

Its a shame to lose your final year of eligibility, seems like a couple of Barnets old guys have had trouble staying with the program. Some of the newer kids have as well, I hope this doesn't become a recurring problem for us under Hawk. Having a half dozen scholarships ruled ineligible becuase of grades is brutal.

A waste of a perfectly good scholarship.

As a Socy major, I would like to tell you that the Socy classes are harder than one would think..... but I would be lying

I know they would never do it...however when you sign a scholarship it is an agreement. They pay for school, you play football and go to school. If you do not pass classes and can not play...then they should take your scholarship (even in your last year) and give it to someone who wants to be there. If this is true about Fataagi then he is an :asshole:

When you have an entire team supporting you and you don't get it done. I have no sympathy for him.

Did he ever play for us? Schollys should be based on if you can play; he cannot play anymore, so his should get pulled. Period. enough of this ****.

Chill out. This isn't professional sports. None of us here know anything about Erick or his situation. He's an 20 year old kid. Relax a little.

V, do you think he'll transfer out, or does this make him ineligible from other schools (like DII, etc.)? I imagine he still wants to play.

The amount of help that is available to these guys is unbelievable. They literally have every academic advantage they could get. Everything from tutors to study halls. I find it incomprehensible that somebody with all those advantages can't even pull a "C" average.

Everyone makes mistakes. Most of these kids are by themselves for the first time in their lives. People recognize them. Some know how to handle it, some don't. If they don't learn, they're gone. It's that simple.

I doubt any of us here know Erick personally. There is no need to start throwing out personal insults at someone. Especially over an internet message board. That's BS.

I'm pretty sure he's done. I cant think of any place that will take him considering his academic past. Even a DII school. jmho.

well I was going to agree with you Valdez, but then I saw you location in your profile setup, and then decided you dont know wtf you are talking about....:smile2:

on 2nd thought, with Eric Fataagi you do.... to dish a college football player, especially a member or former member of the school you support just doesn't make sense. Lot more important stuff out there to get your blood pressure up than this....

Your right V....that is BS. I am sorry he did not make the grades to play football. I hope if he reads this he will forgive me.I hope he enjoys his last year of free education. I hope he turns his grades around, and without the presure of football I am sure he will do just fine.
I don't know him, however I do know what he is going through.

You can be critical with Erick. I don't have any issues with that. This kid messed up bad. Really bad. You'd think the staff would've done their homework on the kid before offering him a scholly. The coaching staff took a risk and it backfired big time. I'm really upset with Faatagi. He was a incredible athlete. It's a damn shame to see him throw it all away.

I just don't like seeing people, on a internet message board, take personal shots at one of our athletes. You don't have to agree, it's just my opinion.

Edit: None of this should be taken as some kind of attack at you 14. So don't take it like that.

We all do it. I've been guilty plenty of times. I'm not trying to be all 'high and mighty' like some posters out there. I hope i didn't come off that way.

    It's the offseason and i'm getting a little antsy(sp?).
