Is Allbuffs still the best CU site on the web?

Hey you. Asshole.
Duly noted that light-hearted banter is only acceptable when you clear 1000's of posts. I will hold off until I am considered worthy. This could be noted as another opportunity for board improvement, but my opinion doesn't seem to matter.

To be clear: all of the above is stated with tongue firmly planted in cheek.

I think most of the posts here are.

Scott - your opinion does matter, and we're looking into how to better balance the threads for all users. Yes, this has caused some of our regular posters to fear that the sky is falling

Glad you took it lightly, I was worried my last sentence wouldn't make my intent clear to you. Glad you are following my instructions.

I've got a couple of things to say.

1. Gate, I'm glad you've returned to the board. I'd like to apologize for the way I treated you. It was rude and disrespectful. SoCal, my apologies for being disrespectful to your wife. It's bothered me for a long time.

2. That being said, the way I have behaved on this board has changed. In the past, I've had a few dust ups with people. TBD is another I can think of that digressed. The shaggybevo statue link was sent to me by Wally, and I started lurking on Allbuffs. It was the first board I participated in, and the first one I really spent any time reading before I joined. I just didn't know how message boards worked. So I've learned a lot over the last 16 months.

3. Learning the ebbs and flows of this board may be a little difficult at first. I still think we should start a n00b forum where questions could be asked. If allbuffs was easy, I think it would be less valuable in terms of interaction.

4. As far as threadjacking goes, I love it! I think a few pages of tree puns are great. However, I think the people that have a problem with wit, attempted wit, and half-wit should consider this: We half-wits have to endure endless pages of mindless regurgitated crap from people who start with "Just my 2 cents" or SIAP, or "didn't read the read..." etc...Then proceed to say something that has already been said. I realize the internet is a great place for people who would otherwise be ignored because they are officious, obnoxious, or dull but if I have to put up with unfunny nothingness, I think it's reasonable to ask you to put up with funny nothingness. It's a fan board first, so irreverence is to be expected. Unless you're a visiting Stanford fan, or pabuff.

5. You're welcome. (For the burrito button)

Too bad we have to wade through so many pages of crap to get a reasonable post!

Good post overall... although tree puns will never be "great".

These are my favorites of what you said. Point 4 is the best. There are maybe 3 posts a year about CU football that are something I have not heard or thought of before. About the same for basketball. None of you ****ers are original or insightful.

Going forward all new posters shall be referred to as Mitch Kramer and be treated as such.
I'd rather treat them like this Mitch: Seriously, watch it, cause it's a message for all.

This needs to be repeated.

To add on to this, the same theory applies to jokes also. I basically just recycle my own jokes usually every 6 months, but have been breaking schedule recently and have gotten some down to 2 or 3 months. I've gotten Wally to rep me for the same joke 11 times since we started out here just over 4 years ago. He's not as smart as he sometimes sounds in his posts.

I have an entire Excel Spreadsheet with jokes for different scenarios. I compiled it from my posts, dply, wally, and www.howtobefunnyonaforum.com.

That's how I finally cracked the top 10 in rep as well. Search function "rugged," copy and paste, repeat. Only problems is now all the ads that pop on on google for me are for teenage girls clothes. Weird.

Like these:

pillow dream collector
"
MataNui
Imagine if your pillow could collect your dreams, and when you wake up, you could plug it into your computer and watch them over again... now that would be sick

Jimmy cracked corn and I don't care
"
Slayn
and honestly, anyone that does care needs to chill the **** out and smoke another bowl.

what should i have for lunch today?

i'm thinking something accompanied by an umbrella drink might be in order, although it technically violates my own rules of drinking.

single malts are great with an umbrella

thanks for the help. i think i've settled it. i'll go with a salad and a bourbon. with an umbrella in the bourbon for sport.

and, THIS is why allbuffs is the best fan site on the innerwebz.

ps. gate, if you find yourself up in nocal, i'll be the guy with the insouciant smile at the end of the bar with an umbrella in his bourbon.
