Saturday 10/4 Game Thread

Pretty conservative with that much time remaining. UCLA has demonstrated that they can score quickly.

Hmmmm. How far forward can the kicker run, so he can hit somebody lying on the ground?

Wide right both times. You'd have thought he'd have corrected on the second one.

That was an opportunity for Pac-12 refs to redeem themselves. Get a call from their superiors saying "pick up the flag" and wave off the ridiculous acting job. Didn't matter. Wide right.

F*** the Pac-12. Job the new teams to haze them in every close game they play. Big 12 refs did the same to CU on their way out. Think Tim Donaghy needing to spend time in a federal prison was an isolated incident? This stuff is happening all over sports.

That probably does the Pac in for making the playoff. Sure, if UCLA or Oregon win out they can make it. I think it has become clear though that the Pac simply doesn't have a top 4 team this year. Very deep league with plenty of top 25 teams, but no one is elite. Hate to see Utah win games like this. It's CU that should be doing this, not Utah. But give them credit, while our "leaders" were incompetent at best and actively undermining CU football at worst for the last 10-15 years, Utah steadily built themselves up from obscurity and are reaping the rewards. Sucks to be playing catch-up and having to fix a dozen years (arguably closer to 20) of complete neglect. Tsarbomba's thread with the pics of signs that should have been replaced 20 years ago is a perfect microcosm of what went wrong with CU football. We let times pass us by. Think where programs like Utah and Louisville were 20 years ago, not to mention Oregon and Oregon State.

UCLA's charity FG barely ... misses.

Utah wins.

Wow. What a day.

Really don't think Dykes is going to be able to turn Cal into a Pac contender with this zero defense style. May work against CU and Wazzu (maybe), but it's a recipe to get trounced by top teams in the conference. He is what he is, not going to change. Worked in the WAC. Pac has always had its shootouts and Cal will get decent talent. Just wonder what the upside is here. Good news for them is the North Division is well on its way to being the weaker of the two. Nice to be able to face Wazzu and OSU every year.

Pissing me off that Utah is beginning to win and we are yet to. :sad2:
