Official 2018 Fall Camp Thread

My question, hopefully for someone that is more knowledgeable on ACC/Va Tech is in regards to McMillian. Actually where’s HokieBuff (if that’s his handle) when you need him? But did McMillian’s number of touches drop because they recruited guys that were equal in talent or did he just not put in the effort? Always thought it was a bit curious that he had such a stellar freshman year then started getting fewer touches the next 2
great back, wish he was still on the Hokies.

Had a bit of a fumble problem, but I suspect it's coachable. wanted a chance to be "the guy" but didn't distinguish himself sufficiently to get Coach Fu's commitment there.

I'm excited he's a Buff!

Well that’s reassuring at least! If you’re happy he’s here then that’s evidence enough for me! Thank you

This is a really good write-up, folks. Only thing I really thought it was missing was the battle for the backup spots at safety and who from that group will be ready to step in if there's an injury or ejection (I still wake up from nightmares as Fo gets flagged for targeting).

Maddox is coming off a shoulder surgery, but was brought in to play.
Trego is a senior who had a great spring to finish as the S2 and we know he'll give great ST coverage.
Cooper is a junior walk-on who would not be a surprise if he earned his way into a scholarship this camp.
Lewis is a RS-frosh who has been here a year and a half now after enrolling early - reports were good this spring.
George and Rakestraw both got moved from CB after the spring to bolster the safety depth.
Hypolite is the true freshman that MacIntyre constantly raved about.

And the wildcard might just be Wigley if he ends up as the #4 CB (or even #5 if Blackmon develops into more than a nickel & return man) after being a part-time starter last season.

So where's the practice report? It's almost 8:30 a.m. on the first day of camp...c'mon, man.

This is great to see. Tui didn't exactly come into CU with the best scholastic background from his underfunded high school.

And adopted by his sister iirc.

A similar story to Charles Johnson (WR) and his heartbreaking childhood where, IIRC, he would sleep on friends couches, move from house to house not eating more than a candy bar a day while taking care of his little sister. His dad was absent and his mother was a drug addict.

One of the most compelling reasons I’m a fan of sports and the opportunity it can offer kids.

All the CU press corp wants to know:
"You were 10-2 in '16 and fell back last year. What are you doing different to improve?"

Like the players know why they were 5-7 last year. Honest answer? The other team had better players than we did.
