I don't think there's any way Matt Canada stays at Maryland after getting passed over, which was a stupid decision by MD IMO. He did an amazing job as interim in a very difficult situation, and his offenses produce.
Plus, you have to love an OC that put up 70 points on NU.

Was hoping Fisch’s time in Jacksonville overlapped with Coach Tucker, but missed him by a year.

Canada is supposedly a dick and hard to work with, hence his travels.
Fisch would be huge, could tucker lure him away from the Rams for a salary of $800,000? That would be about as good of a combo as we could imagine.
I know some people hate him but Kendal Briles would have been a home run OC before he signed that extension at houston.

Chev is also a pretty good recruiter, has developed the in-roads for CU at many large high schools in the footprint and has the CU passion that RG wants. I don’t think RG is going to force anyone on Tucker, but Chev is by far the most logical guy to keep around, especially for a HC who doesn’t know much about our recruiting class, prospects or footprint.
I’d say the biggest hire would be Sam Pittman, but that’s a pipe dream.
No doubt. I don’t think I have seen an Alabama front 7 challenged like UGA did tor most of that game yesterday. It was pretty even and there were times the UGA OL was actually owning the LOS.
We need coaches with ties out west and in Texas though. Especially after bringing in a guy like tucker who isn’t as familiar with those spots.
He’s one of the best OL coaches in the country. Ties to the west are irrelevant if you can pull him.
Pittman is an Oklahoma boy (El Reno) and acknowledged as one of the best recreuiters in the nation. Google him and check him out.

Chiaverini will have to decide if it’s good for his career to be relegated to recruiting coordinator and WR coach at CU and be able to stay where he loves. He will not be OC here. That ship sailed and ran aground.
If he sees his career stalling by becoming recruiting coordinator and WR coach, he’ll move on and it might be the best thing for him.

Tucker recruited Texas very well.
Unless it’s a coach with the resume of Pittman. He would be an auto hire
He has landed like 3 players from Texas right? I don’t think we have the same definition of recruiting very well.
Ties to the west are relevant for the staff as a whole. We should get the best OC and OL regardless of where they recruit and fill in recruiters around them.
Colorado is not a job where you can take responsibilities away from coaches, it’s a all hands on deck situation if we want to meet the expectations of those on this board (too 30 in the recruiting rankings every year)
Recruiting footprint is over-rated IMO. Good recruiters can recruit on any continent. Some younger coaches with some experience can plug in the coaches very quickly. He's going to need a really good OC and OL/DL coaches.
OL is arguably the most important assistant coach on the staff. It is not a “recruiting position” like most of the other AC positions; it’s on par with the coordinators when it comes to the needed balance between recruiting and coaching ability.
Look at the teams that recruit the best in this conference, then look at their assistant coaches and it is pretty obvious it’s not over rated.
None of this matters, though, as Pittman isn’t coming here. CU needs to find a big time OL coach to be sure, and they should/can focus on guys in the West, I’m just saying there are a few of those guys out there that trump the footprint familiarity aspect.
It’s like you haven’t learned anything from the last 6 years. How is OL not a recruiting position? If anything it is the most important recruiting position on the staff. No, that doesn’t mean the coaching aspect should be discounted.
