'15 CO CB Avery Anderson (Verbal to Nebraska)

Avery Anderson while on JR Day in Lincoln this weekend switched his soft ASU commit to the Huskers. That's two 2015 4**** Colorado players opting to Nebraska. Not sure what to think of all of this. Seems the high school players from Colorado don't yet have confidence in the Buff program. Is the leash getting a little shorter for the CU Coaching Staff? I know more time is needed, but they really have to get after it in the next year.

Avery is unfortunately not developing at Nebraska so far. As a redshirt sophomore, he didn't even get a mention behind an injured starter, 3 inconsistent guys who have been forced into starting roles, a senior who has only played special teams so far, a walk-on, and a guy who moved from safety but hasn't really practiced since he tore his labrum right away and still "hits like a linebacker" but lacks most of the actual technique to play corner.

Not sure what to think of all this. Really like MM's development of DBs tho.

I believe he perhaps is working at safety, not cornerback.
But it's also a fact that Avery was not as high on our board as the guys we signed. (Laguda, Oliver, Fisher). We did pretty good in '15!

Quick search shows tons of Nub articles talking about Eric Lee and nothing on Avery....

I heard that CU gave Avery courtesy attention but he was mad because he thought they weren't giving him any love, they weren't. Added in with a fusker having a direct tie to Avery and the program In Eric Lee's dad and kNU was his best option.

Turns out that M2 was right again in his evaluation of talent although Avery does have the athletic ability so who knows how he would have developed under the CU staff. I don't think we ever did actually offer.
