*OFFICIAL* Deion Sanders aka Coach Prime is the new CU Football Head Coach thread

I don’t consider uniform speculation part of the value of Adam’s site, especially if it’s not Adam himself reporting something on it, but for those who have access, a fairly credible poster and a few others who claim to have knowledge say Nike is about to revamp the uniforms with Prime’s approval.

Apparently they’ve tired presenting some more modern options in the past and MM dismissed some of them. I guess they were going to see an overhaul under Tucker but he bailed, and then Dorrell put a huge strain on the Nike relationship (because of course that ****ing weirdo did).

How you can go from hiring Tucker to putting a full court press on Sark to pivoting to Dorrell (wtf) (ON THAT CONTRACT WTF) within a week to hiring Prime will always remain a mystery to me. There simply cannot be a logical explanation for Dorrell.

From the Audible podcast from Feldman. When Prime was in a room meeting with a position group (he did meet with the players by position group looks like, the clips of his meeting with the specialists was on the most recent youtube video), he ****ing told them "I watched your film, and you quit. We won't have that here."

It might have been rougher than that too.

There's no way to see if this has been posted. Pretty moving. Growing older hurts sometimes.

That’s why
A) he sat during his team meeting with JSU
2) was limping during his arrival in Boulder and tour
d) mentioned his “foot felt like it was going to explode” during the presser.

seems silly since odds are he's gone within a year or two of the new deal.
I am not so sure. Just listening to him, I think that he stays for awhile because moving is so disruptive to the players. My guess is that he will leave for only 2 jobs and both should not come available within 4 years: Alabama and Florida State. I think because of CU's history with Black coaches, he stays here because we are a Power 5, and would only leave to go to 1 more place.

Norvell isn't leaving anytime soon, he just had success.
Saban is 71 now and Deion I would think, wants his job.

I just don't see Deion going to another SEC school.

AND another thing. I don't care! I will take the time that we have with him!

He played for five different teams. He lasted 3 years at the last school. He likes challenges and likes moving on. He's going to leave.

Sounds like Coach Prime and FSU aren't on the best of terms right now. They already passed over him before. I'm sure fences can be mended. That being said, I think we'll all be surprised how loyal he'll be to CU if he feels fully supported and taken care of.

Sure, he's going to get the program up and running and vastly improved for this upcoming season but if his goal is a National Championship I'm betting on 5 years.

It would be one of the biggest stories in college football history. And if he's close, I could see him staying a year or two longer to try and get it done. But I think he has to be close by year 3.

I'd take five years. That's the length of his contract and supposedly RG retirement time frame. Yes, his contract will need to be re-done multiple times within five years if he lasts that long.

He will leave, but I think he comes to the conclusion that he only wants to move once more. It won't be while his kids are still at CU.

Besides, if his kids go to the NFL or the WNBA..... by living in Colorado, he would be in the middle of the country and get to his kids games much easier on SUNDAYS!!!! It would be like me watching Koy Detmer play live for the Buffs in 1996 only to get on a plane and watch Ty Detmer play live for the Philadelphia Eagles. (I did this several times and not once were the Detmer parents on my plane.)

If he stays here, his flights would be so much shorter!

If the Broncos don't draft him, I'm done with them. They need to help CU keep coach prime.

I wanted to come by and congratulate the Buffs on the new hire! I may be an LSU fan but I'm a fan of college football in general. My first ever Heisman ceremony I remember watching was when Salaam won, it was on at my late great grandma's Christmas party. I grew up hating Nebraska because of how dominate they always were so I always pulled for Colorado in that game. I still remember being at our family fishing camp for Thanksgiving in 2001, and me and my dad were watching the LSU/Arkansas game but we ended up flipping constantly to the CU/Nebraska game when we saw what was transpiring in Boulder, 62-36 was glorious for me as a CFB fan, one I'll never forget. It was pretty funny how Colorado won their first Big 12 title since the Big 8/SWC merge the same year LSU won their first SEC title since the SEC went to division format.

I've been to Colorado multiple times, in fact I was just there in Denver this past September for my honeymoon, and we drove over to Boulder for a bit so I could see Folsom for myself in person, at least the outside. It really is beautiful state, hopefully I can catch a game next time I'm there. I had always hoped Colorado could find their footing again. I've heard so many times over the years that the CU administration just didn't take football seriously anymore, but with this hire it seems they're announcing that they're serious about competing on the national scene again. Those facilities in that tour video look pretty good too, I believe they said they upgraded them in 2015 which would have been right before that year yall won the South and made it to the Pac 12 CG so as an outsider looking in it seems that the administration has been trying to get back on the national scene for a while just whiffed on some hires as well as Tucker bolting in the middle of the night leaving yall in a bind.

I don't know what you guys expect in year 1, but I'll just say Sonny Dykes, Lincoln Riley, and Brian Kelly are all first year coaches at their respective schools this year that got their teams to their conference title games, and Dykes made the playoffs. Teams can be rebuilt so fast in the age of the portal. I'm a big believe in Coach Prime and he's a great leader of men, I think he'll have you guys competing for Pac 12 titles sooner than you guys think. I couldn't be more excited for you guys!

Welcome! I have zero doubt that BK will win a national championship at LSU and he's already showing what a great coach he is by winning the West when they were picked to finished 5th by the media and were playing with a depleted roster. Plus it's good to see him stick it to all the ND fans who suddenly hate him.

We all feel a bit of a connection to LSU since DiNardo and Miles were both coaches here before becoming HCs there. And, of course, TC McCartney going to LSU and then coaching there a bit.

Thanks for stopping by to say hi. Hopefully we can play each other. A home & home would be so much fun.

we had a home and home with LSU awhile ago.... it was cancelled due to Pac-12 scheduling.

as far as Brian Kelly.... I am sorry... not a fan. Do you see how dumbfounded he looked when Georgia returned that blocked kick in the SEC title game?

He's a great coach who wasn't able to buy a personality. I haven't liked him since his situation at ND with the scaffolding & a response that didn't come across as genuine to me.

But as long as he's got staff that can recruit and relate to players, I expect he'll win a ton of games at LSU. Where he's good, he's elite.
