DC Search Including & beyond the 1st 4 Candidates

"There are some different things I'm definitely thinking about, for sure, especially in the Pac-12," MacIntyre said. "I want to get somebody that understands what we want to do, and gets some of our Pac-12 spread-type teams and the hurry-up offenses and spread offenses. That's something that we have to get better at.


"As I meet with different people on the defensive situation, they have to have a grasp of Pac-12 football, which I think as we're seeing watching these bowl games is the best, offensively especially. That's something we're looking into hard."

I think he was referring more to familiarity with the type of schemes run in the Pac-12. Depends on their backgrounds before the NFL or ACC. Certainly there are hurry-up / spread teams in the ACC?

Like the rumors from Rivals said, there are supposedly 3 candidates, 2 of which are in the NFL. Clearly, it has to be someone on the Pats/Colts/Seahawks/Packers staff, or there would be SOMETHING done by now. And the 3rd candidate (from the ACC) must be a 2nd or 3rd choice or they'd be hired by now.

That is kind of how it is appearing.

Also a plausible scenario. After this weekend their is a two week break before the super bowl. If we are taking someone from those teams, that give some time to iron out some details
 
I will laugh if we announce it Super Bowl Sunday. Would it even make the DP.
 
I want the guy hired before Jay Jay Wilson gets to campus. Otherwise, don't care as long as we hire someone eventually. And even then, it's not that important. Coach >>> one player.

Btw, that is kind of an indictment of our recruiting so far...

They also said they wanted it done by the end of this week, so that would probably rule out the still active teams.

If a coach can be an OC for a National Championship team and it is well known he is leaving, why the hell can't a coach be a DL coach for a NFL team and it be made known? I will give the school credit. They are keeping **** quiet while other schools have constant leaks. While Adam may have had a list of 4 guys, none of those guys had been linked any other group so maybe it was just some names he came up with like all of us. We are all in the dark. This has been fun to assume. No matter who it is, I am sure people will bitch and moan. I just ask you can either coach the **** out over your competition or you are an equal coach to competition but can out-recruit them when it comes to P5 coaches.
 
Vance Joseph interviewing for Broncos HC. So does this mean he will stop in Boulder after Elway follows the Rooney rule and be announced Buffs DC tomorrow?

They're interviewing two minority candidates. They either like wasting their time or have genuine interest in at least one.
