Bowl projections

Not sure we deserve Rose Bowl after that performance. Was pretty sad. Just sucks that the next best is the Alamo. Seem like a pretty low tier bowl to me. Always thought more of bowls like the Cotton or Holiday.

All I know is you can't play like that in a championship game. Play better and I think nowadays you will get respect. I think the west is more laid back and a lot of southern and east coast blowhards run the narrative. How you change that I have no control over.

and ESPN badly needs an original 13 colonies/east of the appalachians team to pimp that isn't in the SEC....even the Leader wasn't convincing itself inflating Syracuse and Boston College in crazy ways for years and years anymore. Penn St is that.

that said, i'd be happier arguing for us to the Rose Bowl if we lost 28-24 or something. woulda been pretty cool i think....CU in the Rose Bowl. we'll get one.

i'm a closet fan of Mike Gundy's offense....so, it will be cool to shut them down and cure myself of the mullet love. i also have some extended family that are big OSU boosters....that will be fun. good peoples.

The Alamo is actually above the Holiday in pecking order. Without looking it up, I feel like the Holiday has been around much longer, and that's why the name might stick with me more as well - I remember it from way back when.

The Alamo Bowl outbid the Holiday Bowl a few years ago for the #2 Pac. Sucks.

they kinda switched places in the old Big XII pecking order...don't remember why......for a while the Holiday was the old time WAC champ....and then was the destination for the Bix XII #2 and Alamo was Big XII #3....minus BCS stuff. don't remember what happened......but the Holiday was the Big XII #2 vs. the Pac. for most of the 2000's the Holiday was the better bowl bid.

I worked as a gameday donor parking monitor for ten years and thus dealt with a lot of opposing fans over those years. I can sincerely affirm that the OSU fans were my favorites ... kind, funny, and not at all arrogant or entitled (looking at you Nubbs and Land Thieves).

And the absolute worse were Whorns fans ... I am so glad that we're done with them forever. And anyone here who even remotely advocates that they be included in any PAC 12 expansion discussion needs to be immediately banned .. and then shot!!

Rose is obviously more prestigious, but we've had plenty of exposure in SoCal, not so much in Texas. I'm not huge on the Alamo myself, especially with the Rose in touching distance, but let's pump the brakes here. We haven't played in Texas since 2009 and Texas has to be one of our main recruiting regions and our location should help us recruit Texas compared to the rest of the conference. This isn't terrible by any means.

I knew this was coming since Friday, but seeing the USC program, players and fans celebrating on Twitter is really getting to me

Okay well goals for next season to get a New Years 6 game.

1) don't win division
2) lose by 50
3) start 0-3
4) have a losing record against top 25
5) beat 1 team that counts

That seems pretty doable.

Ending season top 10...I'll take it. Friday sucked, but man what a season. Guess I'm driving to the Alamobowl.

If we wanted to be in the Rose Bowl, we either needed to beat USC (we didn't) or win the Pac 12 Champ (we didn't). SC will always get favoritism over us. They have about 10x more National Championships and heisman winners than we do. They are the darling of the pac 12. We knew this going in. We had the ability to decide where we go on the field and we failed so we get the next best bowl.

Would have loved the Rose bowl but we didn't earn it. From a strategic standpoint, I like that we get to play in Texas. We are really hitting that area hard in recruiting and it will give our kids another way to feel close to the program.

They were itching to put USC ahead of a Colorado team with a better overall record, a better conference record and division champion. **** them.
Same logic that puts OSU in the playoff, make sure NOT to win your division.

Would of liked to have the cotton instead of the alamo but everything you said is spot on.

Still anxious to see who we'll play ... guess we have to wait until 2:30pm MT or so. :(

Rep this man.

The Rose Bowl can do as they wish. (1) USC is playing MUCH better than us right now; (2) USC hasn't lost since like late September; (3a) USC beat both the PAC-12 champion in blowout fashion and (3b) the Pac-12 runner up; (4) USC would have more fans at the game than CU would; (5) USC is ranked higher in the CFP; (6) CU lost by 31 points in their last game.

I'm sure I could think of more reasons, but that seems sufficient for the Rose Bowl taking SC over us. I'm as die-hard as any of you, but USC earned it, and with our blowout loss to UW, our best talking points for deserving the Rose Bowl went out the window.
