Official Pac 12 Championship Pregame Thread - Buffs vs Huskies

USC -CU game...was that what he was talking about? Ross got his catches in but others struggled and Montez threw two picks. He types Browning but didn't think he switched back to Udub talk. Was asking if he was talking about the Montez picks in the USC game.
He is talking about UW's WR Ross, not CU's.

Ha, I see the mix up. No I was referring to Wash-USC.

USC seems to be the best secondary Washington has faced and they struggled to put up points.

Washington's best receiver is John Ross.

This is a pretty funny thread from the dog porn site

Yeah ... it's funny ... but I didn't really get a chuckle out of this one;

Maybe it's because the guy second row on the left was a Buff ... or maybe it's still just too soon. :(

Yep, he was Air Force ROTC. They named the unit after him. Ellison S. Onizuka.

So is Mathis out? The thread where one of our guys tried to troll their fan site, I read on there that he would be back for this game possibly. That guy was a huge difference maker for them before he got hurt. If he's back and he's healthy, that will be problematic.

Yes, Mathis is out. We lost him during/after the Oregon game and our pass rush became non-existent with his loss.We still don't have a pass rush without a blitz now. Look at our sacks before and after his injury and you'll see how much we need him. He had surgery on both feet and won't be ready until his NFL draft. There is a very, very small chance he plays in a Bowl game but his UW career is effectively over. He was a really good story and he had a child this year so I hope the NFL takes him. He was playing at an All Conference level before he went down.

Also out is starting MLB Azeem Victor. He was a beast and once he left the USC game in the 1st quarter with a broken leg they targeted his section of the field and we couldn't stop them. His replacement is starting to improve and doing ok but we lost our pash rush and defensive captain so the middle of the field is our biggest vulnerability from the pass.

Both Mathis and Victor are done for the year and won't be available Friday.

Yeah that bothered me too.

This game comes down to our pass rush, IMO. Get in Brownings grill and stay there. Our pass rush has been non existent the last two weeks. I tend to think that was by design. We are relying on our DBs to make plays. I don't think we can do that in this game.
On offense, I think we need to score in the high 20's to low 30's to win the game.
I really wish I was more confident heading into this game. I do have a great deal of confidence in Leavitt to put together a solid defensive game plan. I worry about offense and special teams.

I think the pass rush was actually pretty effective against Utah. I thought the defense beat up on Williams pretty good. Falk was a different story.

Just need to continue to be great in the red zone on defense. That will probably tell the story since Washington #1 in red zone TD% on offense and we are #1 in red zone TD% on defense. And cannot give up the big play on the inevitable trick play(s) Washington will run.

I go back and forth on this game. I essentially see two very well coached teams with the Huskies getting the edge in talent. I'd give Colorado the edge in experience. Going to be a battle, that is for sure.
