Official D coordinator search thread (DJ Eliot hired?)

as far as we know it could be him and Tumpkin with the Co Coordinator titles. I would be ok with that

Think that would be the worst case scenario to be honest, but who knows. I just dont think Tumpkin is going to get out of this situation unscathed and as an employee of the university.

Af this point I'm pretty sure I'd take him as a DC. Texas seemed to be a toxic environment. Maybe it wasn't a good fit and a change of scenery would get him back to his Louisville days

He hasn't gone to USF? Given Strong's assistant pool, he was taking the bulk of his staff from UT down there.....if not them all.

As far as I can see he has not. I figured he would have to. Think he'd be a great hire to coach Db's and co-dc with Eliot.

Close. MacIntyre decided to switch to a 3-4 and hired a DC who could do it.
My bad Nik... was definitely sarcasm font... I know Mac made the decision on which way to go and what he wanted, and he also knew it would take a couple years to get things going in place, as he stated multiple times he could feel the change winds blowing for this team to turn the corner but they weren't moving as fast as he hoped, but he knew to keep pushing.

Eliot is a pretty good hire if he is a position coach for you guys. But if he is the DC, good luck.

I saw the 247 link about his all time recruits. About half of those from his Kentucky tenure he had no hand in. He got a couple on signing day a couple of years ago but that is about it. He can't recruit (at least as a DC). Our OC (Eddie Gran) has been here for a year and has three times as many commits than Eliot has. Again, he is a very good position coach but there is a reason why he wasn't calling plays by the 4th game of the season.

The only reason he wasn't gone a year or two ago is because him and Stoops are BFFs. Stoops tried to help him find a job so that he didn't have to fire him. I really hope he is a position coach for you guys.

If you have any questions about him, his recruiting, or his defense, don't be hesitant to ask.

Tip 1: Jim is usually being an asshole (pot, kettle, I know)
tip 2: Jim hates Adam Munsterteiger with a burning passion. That Adam is the publisher of Buffstampede.

Most of this is true except that I don't hate anyone. No room in my heart for hate.

You need to prove that
1. No he doesn't.
2. If he does, you certainly need to prove something. You haven't. Can you?
3. HCMM has repeatedly said he wanted to move to a 3-4 back when he hired JL - both then and recently. I could source it for you, but you probably would just say he's lying and demand more "proof."
4. We are staying in a 3-4, which suggests it's HCMM's preferred system.

I wouldn't mind a CO position for him. How much will Mac have to do with the D? He worked under Parcells so I'd imagine he knows what the **** he's doing.

How much did he make at UK?
