What's the biggest "What if" in CU football history?

What if Robert Hodge was 5 inches taller?

What if Kendrick Celestine brought the Colorado Swag?

What if Fairbanks didn't remodel the coach's office?

What if B Jax could throw?

What if Darian Hagan could really throw?

What if Conrad Obi was unblockable?

What if Clark Evans?

What if Coach Meat recruited to his ability?

Willis McGahee as a third string RB. o_O

Portis was told to enter the draft early because he wasn't going to start the next year. iirc, ends up the dude who wasn't good enough to start for the Canes was 2nd rd pick & offensive ROY.
Their RB room was the equivalent to the WR at Bama a few years ago….except you could only play one at a time. Stupid talent.

Also, I must add that not many people will remember what he looked like before he hurt his knee, but he was headed towards once in a generation RB status. The fact that he came back from that injury the way he did, does not get enough credit. That he had the career in the NFL that he did after one of the most horrific knee injuries I’ve seen, just speaks to how special he was.

And yes, he was 3rd string

Didn’t that happen with Lamont Warren as well?

What if Hawkins wins in Kansas?

What if Jon Boman doesn’t slip on the piece of **** turf at Farrot Field?

What if Scott Frost DOESN’T hide in a closet, but instead defends his girlfriend’s honor and steps to Lawrence Phillips?

This one’s a no-****ter:
- 2007 Independence Bowl
- CU = 6-6
- Alabama = 6-6
- Nick Saban’s first year at Bama
- Alabama wins 30-24
- WHAT IF CU wins?

I think the butterfly effect turns Alabama into heroin-riddled Amy Smart…

instead of what they became.

BTW, answer to that last question:
CU probably doesn’t beat Nebraska in ‘18 and ‘19…because Scott Frost would have been murdered by Lawrence Phillips, thus not be coaching in those games.

when i was a kid first going to games with my dad, the one you heard was if Eddie Crowder landed Luscious Selmon (which apparently almost happened).

then you get Lee Roy and Dewey Selmon.

and probably JC Watts who was also from the same town in OK as the Selmons.

those of you who don't know about the Selmons, google the Selmon brothers.

maybe not the #1 but still a pretty good one.

Breaking silence. Really enjoying this thread!

What if Miami lost to Virginia Tech in the last week of the 2001 season? Or a few weeks prior to unranked Boston College? Both of these things almost happened. VT was ranked 14th so that probably wouldn’t have had a huge impact on the final standings, but the computers at that time were entirely unpredictable, and it’s possible that a late season Miami loss could have moved them back to the 3 spot in the rankings, leaving your 2001 BCS championship game to be… a rematch of 62-36.
