2014 MBB Coaching Carousel

Coaches are in a tough spot on this. For fan/booster support, recruiting and relations with existing players & the university administration, it's important to make it clear that they are committed to their current job. We all understand in our own lives that if someone wants to double our salary for essentially doing the same exact job, we'll damn sure entertain the offer. Coaches (and pro athletes) are no different, but somehow we expect them to be.
Agree with this. Particularly when it comes to administration, I'll add you don't want your coaches flirting with other programs year-after-year. I think you saw this with Mizzou, they just had it with Mike Anderson -- you don't want to be here... LEAVE. Now in some cases, particularly mid-majors and below, the school will need a coach much more than the other way around.

@GaryParrishCBS VCU's Shaka Smart will not, despite recent speculation, be the next head coach of Marquette, a source has told @CBSSports. Story coming ..

85 - you can give some basic info with these links. Let people know the basic info in your post and then the link is there so they can click if they want to read the details. No reason for someone to follow a link to find out that BC is looking at an Ohio coach as a possible candidate.
No problem, will do from now on.

Admittedly not a ton of options out there for Wake, but these "flavor of the month" hires often do not pan out. Big jump from a weak CUSA to a major rebuilding job in the basement of an ACC that's getting far more brutal with Louisville joining the mix.

Yea, no joke.

Danny Manning turned an 11 game win streak in Conference USA to an ACC gig.
